Darn. I might have to use some of my 300 or so normal injector blades thenFergiebilly said:Hi, Andreas,
I wouldn't have thought there would be enough room to get a double Blade in a Christy.......Its quite a tight fit with a single blade........I mean, the Christy is just a perfect set up with a single blade and any manipulation of the head might perhaps throw out the balance of such a perfect set up.....
But, Paul is the man, when it comes down to the Christy though......:icon_razz:

I don't 'need' a twin blade in a Schick injector either, but I can - so I will. I know they don't work for you Paul, but I always go back to my Schick Golden 500 for the closest and most pleasant shaves ever. Doesn't stop me trying whatever I can lay my hands on. My first 'inherited' straight should be back from honing next week. Now that scares me.pjgh said:Yeah, it'd be tight ... very tight, but do-able. Single edge simplifies things and you'll find out that you don't need a twin blade loaded in a Christy - it will happily shave you sub-cutaneously with just one

My Christy arrived yesterday after a quick journey from the US. First impression: Goodness - it is pretty! Pencil thin handle with a lovely (although in this case very tarnished in places) fine pattern. The head with its steep angle is very elegant as well and the baseplate is pure genius. I spent hours soaking, scrubbing, ultrasonic clean and polish the handle. Still needs a lot more work until it will be as shiny as I like my razors. But I decided to take it for a spin this morning. Getting the injector blade in is a bit fiddly but can be done with care. Paul's photos help to put the mind at ease with regards to placement of the blade. I used a modern blade from Connaught as I get on with them nicely and the rubbish plastic holder is not an issue in this case.pjgh said:... not for lack of trying or for lack of love for their looks. I just looked at the instructions that came with mine. Looks like 40 degrees. Yikes. Not on my watch. I wasn't flat, but not far off. I'll experiment with blades and angle then.pjgh said:Now, Christy recommend that the angle is about 45 degrees! That would put the handle about parallel with the face. Personally, even I'd find that pretty aggressive. Some folks are using them with the cap flat to the face, like an injector, and report a good, but mild shave.
Something in between is always going to be right ...
Yeah, lovely, aren't they?
Check out the bakelite handled Keen Kutters!
