Have you seen the price of Schicks from Japan or prolines? Why wouldn't you want your blade to last as long as possible? I agree with you regarding the mechanism but why wouldn't you want a blade to last as long as possible and still provide a good shave?
You could always run a whole mag of blades through your razor and marvel at the great mechanism and then put them back,....just a thought.I d rather have great shaves and shave every 2 shave so i can use that great mechanism
Unfortunatly my injector blades last me about 8-10 shave easy ...
The twins last about 15 shave for me...
I know how much they cost in japan as i bought mine when i went to japan 2 years ago... super pricey!

For this purpose I recommend blade clips full of used, cleaned and blunted injector blades. I call them 'Blanks'You could always run a whole mag of blades through your razor and marvel at the great mechanism and then put them back,....just a thought.
Yes a very good idea for the reasons you state and also if you are into loading injector razors for the joy of it! It would not matter if you were to inadvertently ruin an edge when putting the blades back into the mag. Good tip.For this purpose I recommend blade clips full of used, cleaned and blunted injector blades. I call them 'Blanks'
I actually use them for two purposes: before thoroughly cleaning an injector I put a blank in, to remove the risk of injury and when I send an injector razor to someone else I put a clean blank into the head.
Twin blade blanks are also perfect as shims for SE razors.

As I said: used, cleaned, blunted blades. When a blade is finished, I eject it from the razor, run the edge over a knife steel. A brick will do, or coarse sandpaper. They blunt easily. Then I clean the blade and it gets put back into a blade clip. To do this, you need to gently push down the top blade or (if the clip is empty) the spring that pushes the blades up. I use the the stem from another clip to do this. Make sure that the formerly sharp edge does not point towards the stem of the injector, but away from it. Also, mark the clip in some way - you don't want to shave with a blunted blade. How do you make blanks ? Do you use old blades ?
The Schick Proline Type B AC blade will work well in most Injector Razors, and IMHO works outToday, I broke out another NOS Personna 74 from my magazine and had a bitch of a time getting it to load in the M Razor. Now when I got this mag the blades were all clumped together and I had to disassemble the mag and soak the blades in alcohol to unglue them and that was a pain in the azz let me tell ya. This second blade I transferred to an empty "Chick" mag before loading in the razor when it dawned on me why the first blade was crap: the NOS Personna mag was for crap and evidently I had blunted the blade when loading into the razor. The shave quality was night & day different. Set on 7 for everywhere except on 5 for around the mouth/chin the shave was simply superb!!
Before I wax nostalgic and grow weepy for these NOS blades let me toss the "turd" into the punch bowl by stating that great though they are they are simply not worth the exorbitant cost to buy. On another note, although currently made injector blade selection is sparse at best with essentially only two blades extant, those two ""Chick" & Personna) are IMO excellent blades and hold their own against NOS and are a Helluva lot cheaper.

cheaper than the Chicks and lasts longer too.
I think they beat the Chinese Schicks hands down. Sharper and smoother. The Schick Proline Type B AC blade will work well in most Injector Razors, and IMHO works out
