I'm in need of some refreshment, fellas

Good to hear. There's so many conflicting opinions on bevel-setting and finishing out there that it becomes a bit of a mind ****
Anyway, I ran my Dovo over the lapping film earlier. I gave it 50 laps on the 3 and 20 odd on the 1. I then stropped on poly webbing followed by leather. The edge seems ok and sliced through one of my old lady's hairs without too much bother. (I couldn't use one of mine for obvious reasons)
I haven't shaved with it yet as I used it this morning and don't really have a decent enough growth going on. I'll scrape my chops with it in the morning and give you an update. We live in exciting times, mate )
PS. I heard an old boy on Youtube making the case for setting a bevel with 1k wet and dry paper. Alright for planes and chisels I would have thought but a hollow ground razor? Hmmmmm. But hey, what do I know?

Try putting a piece of white paper under the 1 micron lapping film and do another 20 laps if you don't use the balsa. Wet the paper and lay the lapping film on top of it. This is done after the regular 1 micron(without paper). If you use balsa and diamond paste no need to do it. Gives it a bit of extra keenness.
