Should be fine in another couple of days once all the larvae have matured and are ready to emerge from the wound.I'm in my late 30s and I'm noticing that I come back from injuries with much more difficulty these days. I also seem more prone to injuries as well. The latest one is actually embarrassing. It's that embarrassing I'm going to share it on the Internet.
Bank Holiday Monday I picked up an insect bite near my ankle. It must have been either a horse fly or a spider. General itchiness but nothing of concern. 8 days later and the bite became swollen and the skin around it was infected. It kept getting bigger and I'm now on antibiotics. 2 days of treatment and my ankle is still massive and sore but it's no longer hot.
That's the type of shit you expect in a jungle - not Devon! Another sign of my ageing immune system?
I'm pleased to report that the Emporium remained operational despite this brush with death.
Jeez Devon must have some evil insects, you're a true soldier, brush with death eh? I bet your partner never felt your demise was that imminent, if I'd had the sting/bite My Lady wife would have recalled real pain was giving birth really painful, then she would start on her needing stitches, my only sadness is they never managed to get a few stitches in her gobI'm in my late 30s and I'm noticing that I come back from injuries with much more difficulty these days. I had a similar thing a few years ago when I was in my mid 50s. A tiny bite on my ankle while mowing the lawn ended in a 3 day stay in hospital on an antibiotic drip, with a nurse drawing around the infection with a marker pen every hour as it spread to cover my whole lower leg. I was told at the time that it was a similar type of infection to that "flesh eating" bug and if I hadn't got medical attention when I did then I could have lost my leg. Fortunately it cleared up with no lasting ill effects other than a slight dent in my leg! Just shows that even in this relatively safe country nasty things are lurking.I'm in my late 30s and I'm noticing that I come back from injuries with much more difficulty these days. Of course, it also justifies the need for buying huge amounts of aftershaves, alum etc. to ward off nasty infections.......We're survivors Bruce.
