Identify box

I acquired this razor from a local antique shop today for a good price.

Unfortunately the handle is quite badly damaged, which I did not notice... Now on the lookout for a 1912 handle!

I don't think the box is original to the razor, as the handle is short.

I tried it with a Streamline and that is a little short too.

Any ideas as to the correct razor to go with this box?

The blade case is different in that it is spring loaded and when removed from the box it opens up...

Yep, just compared it with my different styled 1812 handle. Fits perfect..

Head us good nick so will look out for handle or decent 1912....

I've got a 1912 chainlink handle going begging if you want it Cyril, it has a little damage on the flange below the threaded area but nothing to worry about.

Appreciated Rich... PM on route....

Don't know how much you paid Cyril but the box looks in very nice condition and the 1912 can be picked up for next to nothing so I'd say you've done well.

As above ... the box is right for a regular sized handle.

Midas appears to have sorted you out, Cyril. I have the same box, but a "Chain Mail" handle on mine.

.. shorter handles came with the Traveller sets, but that one looks munged!

Yeah, Midas has been very kind and helped. Box is very nice indeed. £15 so not a great outlay...

How did I end up collecting SE? :)

Don't start Neil, I am bad enough!!!

Paul sent me down the Valet Rd, and I have at least three.

At one point I went so mad on eBay, I didn't know what I had bought and was surprised at razors arriving...

It's easy to enter a buying frenzy when razors are £5-£10 each......

Need to start using them now......
