I have been asked to submit a pic for inclusion in a catalog.

I have good pics in my PB account, but am told that the file size is too small. The requirements are :

" Print quality images should be high resolution (300 dpi (dots per inch)) and at least 5 x 5cm. Large 72dpi images can be used - but these image MUST be bigger than 20 x 20cm in size. "

Am I right in thinking that because the files in PB are compressed jpeg, that is causing a problem, and that once compressed, that's it ?

Any suggestions as to how I do this would be welcome.

My camera will allow 6Mp max.

I use IrfanView for editing, and can take new pics.

Help greatfully received.

The compression format isn't the problem, it's the actual file size that needs to large enough to to be able to print at sufficient quality. It's not ideal adding information but if you send me the image I can do it easily enough.

Just for future reference screen resolution (~72dpi) isn't print resolution (min 300dpi) so every thing you see on screen that you send to the average printer is going to print near enough a 1/4 of the screen image size.

"Gimp" is free to download and powerful enough for most basic tasks including up-scaling.
