Hone type 15t

Thank you for all the thoughts. @JohnnyO The idea of a titanium version started on this very forum, as part of the pass around I believe and a discussion around the weight. It is a learning process and being small I feel I can take feedback into account in a very pragmatic way. I welcome the discussion; Even the original Type 15 was slightly divisive with the use of unfinished brass.

Come to think of it, the Shaving Room feedback also lead to me surveying some customers and then introducing the 100mm handle. It takes me a little while to make things happen but I do listen.

Here are my thoughts:
Andrew wanted to make a Hone in Titanium for quite some time and he did. Good on him! Turns out you can't make them on the cheap. If you made a lot of them you could drop the price. Maybe to 400-500 quid. But you still wouldn't sell a lot. You get a Titanium Hone with two titanium handles, a titanium brush, a leather pouch and a pretty solid looking wooden box. I can only imagine how many hours of hard work Andrew put into this project. The hardware is not made in the Far East I believe and I bet that fact alone doubles the costs. So he decides to make a limited edition run of just 22 sets (I like it - atomic number of titanium) to maybe recover some of the cost. Even if he sells all of them at a grand each, he's not going to be a rich man, if he makes any money at all.
Now, I can't afford this razor and even if I could I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a razor. So what?
If you start hyperventilating when you see the price, you're not the target audience. Get over it and buy a Hone 15/15a instead. Or a Wilkinson Classic. Too expensive? Get one of those Futur clones made by small Chinese children instead.
Now, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in...
And relax.
 
It's like how far can we push this until enough is enough. The idea of saying DE shaving is cheaper then cartridge shaving is a joke. However, with that said I did see a Damascus razor sold in the USA for 100k some years ago. I guess only an athlete who makes millions could afford it. I will stick to my Timeless Ti which cost under 300usd and it shaves great.

I love your work - all your razors, which I have used (the Hone 15 and the 15a) are beautiful and a joy to use.

I appreciate the 22T and hope that this is a success, which adds to your brand reputation.

Looking forward to future razors - a more aggressive Hone sounds very interesting and appealing.

Hi Andrew,

I have just noticed that the 15t set now is £500.

Have you shipped any of them yet or the project is not finished. I noticed it says the brush is not ready so I am assuming the set is not ready. Would be good to get an update.

I cant find them for sale on his website.
