Picked up this old stone today unfortunally it had a crack which was all the way through so now two 4 inch stones. No idea what it is is real heavy and very very hard rubbed a small dmt on it and the slurry is white

Absolutely no idea! Can't even make out the colour properly. Looks a bit like granite, but could also be some form of novaculite like arkansas. It really needs a good clean-up and serious lapping in order to make an informed guess though...

thats as clean as it is going to get soaked in boiling water and cleaned with oven cleaner, tryed to lap it but as said it is hard hard, took a belt sander to it on the chipped corner and a surface hardly made a dent in it and on the corner i got it down about 5mm and still the same colour. Must have been loved by someone as when it was still together had a serious dish and how hard it is must have been a lot of use to do this.
