Hi everyone, I've not been long into wet shaving in general. I'm looking to buy a Rockwell 6S as I've seen a lot of hype about them.

Can anyone help me in regards to if they know will I end up having to pay any charges when I receive the razor in the UK from Rockwell's website themselves. For example, VAT or so on or is it built into the price I pay? And have you buy this way yourself and how did you get on?

All opinions welcomed. Thank you for reading.

Welcome to TSR. I’ve never been charged vat after the initial transaction. As long as the declared import value is less than £135 you shouldn’t pay import duty either. Rockwell states local shipment - I doubt you’d get any additional charges.

So maybe it's worth the risk then.

Welcome to TSR Jim,
The Rockwell 6S is a cracking razor and there are a couple on the Bay right now if you are after a bargain price.

I had seen one on Ebay for roughly £63 used with P&P.

It's new on Rockwell for £80 with discount £72 with free delivery. Was just wondering how vat works or is that in on the price?

Definitely go for the new one then and I can't say about the VAT as I have never ordered new from them.
Someone else out here I am sure will be able to answer that question.

Thanks for your replies Johnny. It's greatly appreciated. I hope so that will give me a peace of mind :D

They are currently in stock at the English Shaving Company for £109… so no import issues. And you get Royal Mail 24 hour delivery free.

The 6S is a great razor.

Hi, WiffWaff. I've seen a couple of UK companies sell it for around that price. But considering if it's worth the punt for £72 free delivery which i guess would suggest it's coming from UK.

Just wanted to see if anyone else had purchased like this and their outcome.

Thanks.

I think they ship from Canada. As has been said you shouldn't get charged for anything under £135, I've got away with it every time from both Canada and the US.

Rough estimate with conversion below in the unlikely event that you do get a charge.

Alternatively you could get it from https://slickboys.co.uk/ for £89.

So in your opinion not that i'm holding you too it is it's worth the risk it means i could just end up paying that extra on top of the initial charge?

I forgot the £4.25 postage, with Slickboys.

If I wasn't in a rush to get it then personally I would probably risk it based on my past order experience.

Yeah I aint in not rush at all.

I mean they did say to me when they message that I wouldnt have to pay any import or anything but then their t&c's saying something different.

I guess it's worth trying.
