To be an authentic '70s shower, the water pressure needs to be incredibly low (slightly quicker than dripping) and the temperature needs to fluctuate if someone so much as looks at the taps in the kitchen.
We washed our hair with one of those when the jug was being used for gravy. This was a shower in the 70s! [emoji371]
Yes the quality of the old hand soap is way better. You are lucky with the shaving bowl and stick still remains the classic IL scent, the ones I have smells bit like the Valobra stick to my nose but the performance is still great. For some reason I can't upload any pictures on this site but I will try to copy and paste the link of my instagram picture of the Imperial Leather, you can see the long neck bottle I'm talking about, also in same bottle you can get brillantine for hair which has the same wonderful scent as the aftershave.Sezer - I have a couple of shave sticks, and three shave bowls, all are NOS apart from the one I used for the first time above, and all of them have a really decent scent still, so i'm surprised none of yours have much scent left!
I find the smell of the new IL soap similar, but not as strong as the old stock, plus the new stuff seems to melt away rather quickly and it doesn't seem creamy like the old one. I think because it's made from palm oil and not tallow, probably got loads of other crap in it too
I've only got the IL Aftershave and Cologne shown above and both smell the same, obviously they are the same design though, i'll keep my eyes peeled for some different designs, would love to try them.
For added authenticity you can still purchase new a fairly terrible 70's style boar brushes like the Vulfix 28.
You don't like boar, or is it just that one in particular?
