Hi, that's correct the wax is temporary. It will wash out instantly.
The beard dye is good, it can leave noticeable staining to your skin also unless your beard is very thick and hides any noticeable skin. Also, the beard dye will fade after around a week I noticed.
I no longer use dye, I embrace the colours of my beard when I decide to grow one that is.
I would avoid beard dye. And just learn to love the colours of your beard. And work on finding a good routine for keeping it looking healthy and tidy. The co-washing method, followed by Grandpa's pine tar soap once a week. Using beard butter instead of beard balm and learn to dry your beard correctly with a hairdryer.
