I recently purchased a silver GILLETTE DEBUTANTE with a G inside D on the end of the handle someone said it was pretty rare, a guy in America who said in 20 yrs of collecting razors he has only seen one, and asked if i was selling it and give him a price, but I don't know very much about this razor, if its that rare i don't want to give it away. Can anyone tell me more about this razor.

Its not really that rare a razor, just really a old type razor that was marketed at women, depends on condition but really at the most you are looking at 20 quid and thats if its in real good condition. by that I mean nearlly the same as when it was made

I recall reading somewhere that the "G inside a D" denotes that the razor at one stage had been back to the Gillette factory for repair. Maybe that is what he considers rare about your particular razor.

I concur that the GD meant it came back to the factory for one reason or another.
