Gillette Blue Made in England

As part of an Ebay purchase I got aprox 25 Gillette Blue Blades (Made in England) with a date code of X2 (1952?) on them, would they be carbon steel blades. If so should have they have rusted by now if they had been used ? They are all in mint condition, but I thought they were supplied in a dispenser?
I have no intention of using them but would like some information about the blades if any one knows about them.
Steve.

I think, if I have got my facts right Gillette (and other makers) struggled to make a Stainless Steel D.E. blade due manufacturing problems until the 1960's when Wilkinson Sword made a D.E. blade in S/S.

I await in patience to be corrected..........

Certainly Wilkinson Sword were the patent holders for stainless DE razor blades (I think that happened in late 1950s), but I believe they also licensed that out in the early 1960s to get income from effectively every blade sold whether they made it or not.

Money grabbing sods..............bet Gillette were furious.........
