Gillette blades and their factory/country origins

You're missing two long out of production Indian blades:

I had never seen the Gillette 7 O'Clock Diamond before. In any case, I have only included blades currently in production in the table; those that are no longer in production have not been included. Otherwise, I would also have had to mention the Gillette Stainless (red pack) for Europe that are out of production since many years.

It has been amended as follows. I am still not certain that the changes made to the London Bridge blades are correct. It appears that the Gillette Sword Carbon blades do indeed exist and are produced at the Shanghai facility, but they are sold only in Indonesia; they are not fake.

A good list.

The Russian 7 O'Clock blades AFAIK were sold in Pakistan and I think a few Arab nations too. I bought some of them in London, UK sold by Pakistani owned grocery stores.

The Indian Gillettes, eg 365, 7 Permasharp Green, 7 Black, I know are definitely for the Indian market, as I bought them when I was out there. I presume the Winner blades are for the Indian market too, as they have the price on the back in Indian currency, they weren't released when I was out there btw.

Which Gillette 7 O’Clock blades are intended for Pakistan?
Generally speaking, all Gillette blades manufactured by Gillette India are designed for the Indian market, with the exception of the Astra, if they are still produced there.
The Gillette Winner Stainless blades, produced by Vertice Global, are also primarily intended for the Indian market.

As for the Gillette 7 O’Clock blades manufactured in Russia, I wasn’t sure, but it is possible that they were intended primarily for Arab countries. Furthermore, if production of the Astra blades has indeed been transferred to China, it would make sense from a logistical point of view: the same factory could produce both the King C. Gillette and the Astra blades intended for the European market, thereby reducing distribution costs.

It appears that Gillette blades produced in a particular country or continent are primarily intended for the local market, whilst those produced in Russia now seem to have been intended mainly for the African and Middle Eastern markets.

I bought a few 100's of those from a local Pakistani grocery in town, they aren't as sharp as the Sharp Edges from about 10 years back I had.

@lozioditalia the same shop also sells this one

Which I presume is another Russian made blade also sold in Pakistan.

I’ve just looked online for information about Gillette 7 O’clock, the ones made in Russia. Specifically, Gillette 7 O’clock SharpEdge razors are available in Pakistan and perhaps also in other countries such as the United Arab Emirates, whilst Gillette 7 O’clock Super Stainless razors (in the green packaging) are available in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the Gulf states and Yemen.

If anyone has a box of Gillette 7 O’clock blades, manufactured in Russia, we could check but yes they are actually intended for Pakistan and certain Arab countries.

I wonder if these yellow blades are India or at least the ones made for middle eastern market could be? India has the highest number of Muslims in the world per the population, so, it is entirely possible Gillette has entrusted the 7'Oclock Indian factory to make these blades. Yellow Sharp Edge blades without farci are already made in India in 2019 onward. India also has the blue super stainless steel like Russian packaging made in only the color is black but they say the same blade type. Reasons are a good number of countries have a ban on goods from Russia, so they are making some models in India knowing the 7'Oclock green packaging were already made in India.

Gillette also has some blades made exclusively for Brazil as some of the early 2020 to mid 2021 King C Gillette blades were made in BRZ which is short for Brazil, and I feel like some blades might still be made there in Brazil by Gillette.

Indonesia (242M), Pakistan (235M) ... then India (213M).

The writing is actually Arabic rather than Urdu (or Farsi) ... translators tell me the distinctive 'h' sounds of Haffat Hadda (Sharp Edge) mark this clearly, words not used in Urdu or Farsi. The back of the packaging does explicitly say Pakistan (and, curiously, South Africa) but no mention of UAE.

The Golden Shave pack is Urdu.

This is perhaps an older model, dating from 1996. On the back, it says ‘Gillette Middle East PO Box 1996, Dubai UAE’.

The Gillette 7 O’Clock Super Stainless appears to be intended not only for the Pakistani market, but also for Saudi Arabia, as well as other Gulf countries and Yemen.
It also lists distribution for countriessuch as Zimbabwe, Angola, and P&G UK, but does not include a consumer phone number.

That’s not the case; the yellow pack of Gillette 7 O’clock blades is only manufactured in Russia.

No Sharpedge blades were ever produced in India, either in 2019 or before; they have always been manufactured in Russia.
Only the green Gillette 7 O’clock Permasharp pack and the black Super Platinum pack are manufactured in India.
