Hi. I tried a slim for the first time today. Did the first pass on 7, second on 5 and third on 3. Very smooth, no discomfort. I am really impressed!
Andy.
I really like my Gillette adjustables.
On the practice of using a lower setting on the final pass: as you need to get a lot closer to the skin to shave the minuscule hair length, you will probably apply more pressure. More pressure on a high setting can mean irritation and blood. On a lower setting you might well get away with it?
I can't work it out either,
Gillette TTO really work well for me.
I've tried for a week at a time;
7, 5, 3
& then
3, 4, 5
Both methods seem to work equally well??
Twisting the setting probably doesn't change the blade gap at all and the whole thing is the shaving equivalent of a placebo!
Unless your razor is broken it definitely does change the gap?
That's your opinion, but what evidence do you have to say it's most people's?the slim is an abomination, the shave angle is very narrow, and for most people its a bad one. at least for my sensitive skin and tough as hell facial hair.
The best adjustables are the fat boy and the super adjustable.
