The completist in me wants one but I sure do like the heft of the chrome versions. The aluminum are really light as you'd imagine.Right now there is one nice gold No15... i must resist...

Is there a Gibbs club? I'll of course clean it and try to make it as good as it can be, but the acid question will be answered when I shave with it first time. I think as you gents say it's a smoooth razor, I'll compare it to the 6S on the same shave. I think anything would be hard pushed to approach the 6S smoothness, but we live and learn.Congrats! And wellcome to the Gibbs Club!
Little cleaning and this old beauty will show you how good can be!
Of course, if you don't like, @Blademonkey and I will be...[emoji6]

Razor Emporium has made a stainless steel model (the Rex Ambassador $249) closely based on the Gibbs. They've had some production delay but currently project a release later this month. The other Gibbs project, the Valiant, seems to have been abandoned.Thank you, nolisco for the information. If it's so good, I think I'll buy a spare. I think it's about time for some vendor to exploit the possibility of making a replica of the Gibbs preferebly with a longer handle. Is the no,16 the aluminum version?

Congrats, now you have a spare. Is it the gold one you bought?I have just landed a second number 17 Gibbs Adjustable , they are that good and I regret selling the other two so I needed a second one, I'm sure you understand!P.

They are one of the best DE razor's I have had the pleasure to own as well as being an adjustable they are silky smooth in action and very efficient indeed, a very over looked razor imo, the DE blades need slight doctoring but it takes a couple of seconds to do and it's vintage, dating back to the 30s up to the late 40s I believe so made extremely well. Looks good too!"Gibbs" Razors,
Yet another new name to my vocabulary.
Forgive my ignorance but how good are they Paul?
They look really nice.
Reminder. ( I must stop frequenting this forum on such a regular basis)
No, not the gold one but one identical to the one I have already only in slightly better condition on the cap, it's good to have a spare!Congrats, now you have a spare. Is it the gold one you bought?
