Was there not quite a large American Bund on the go in those days ? Not that I believe that one shaving brush has too much signifigance. Just probably not one I'd want next to my own Vie Long.

The swastika has a long history and context before the Nazis got their genocidal hands on it. I've got a 2nd edition of Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories with one embossed on the front.

But it is hard to see it as anything other than Hitler's symbol now.
