I've been using the hot towel quite a bit, but not for shaving, I use it when serving shellfish for dinner.
The trick is putting them in water, wring them, but not too much, and roll them up tightly! (I use a bit of lemon juice in the water)
Put in a dish, they should stay warm quite a bit, but 2 min is too much for me. (1 min does it here)
The rolling them up keeps them warm.
Another good use for this trick is sterilising kitchen sponges (they're really full of bacteria)
Put a wet/damp kitchen sponge in the microwave for 30s and you've killed everything on it.
(repeat daily)
