W.h gates. A hardware company unfortunatley, and not a cutlery
Company like most razor companys

Ok first shave with the w h gates razor.
Neil wasn't joking when he said this thing took a good edge.
I made it a two pass affair and that was enough both passes
Wtg no clean up needed and almost bbs possibly the best straight
Shave to date. Only one minor nick, struggling with dry skin at the moment.
I'm only comparing the shave from my wapi but impressed so far, supprised about
The differance between two razors
Only downside I can't pin down a date for the razor. Other than that no downsides.
Thanks for ya help Neil and Graham for ya help

Colin

Let's see how the next one shaves

That's great news Colin - with all that weight behind the blade it seemed like it would be keen to slice through stubborn bristles. I reckon it will improve with performance in the next few shaves. It's a lovely razor, a lovely piece of history and you did a damn fine job on restoring it, too!

Very nice all you got to do now is keep getting old razors to do up and tell the wife what a bargin you get each time and how much money you are saving. Just dont tell her about the dremel, drill press, bench grinder, buffer, files, cleaning matterials and acrylic that you have to buy to do them up.
