I wish you buggers would stop posting open razor porn, it's almost tempting to try one again, again!

Arrowhead said:Those washers were kindly supplied by Neil along with the usual Microfasteners 1/8" ones for the outside of the razor. He also gave me instructions, which I followed to the letter: "The thicker / larger washers are the same size as the ones Dovo now uses - I think they are a bit thick for friction washers, so I put them on a bit of flat steel and bash with a flat-face hammer to thin them a bit". Short of devising some sort of blanking jig and punch to make them out of brass shimstock, or getting Ralfy to turn them, these washers are a bit of a problem on account of the thickness - nobody seems to supply them off the shelf. The main thing is to get something in there to provide clearance!
Can't see much wrong with your razor Ivan. I have one which has to be closed very carefully to avoid it fouling the scales - presumably yours doesn't have that problem? That's the next rescale project in fact, but I'm fighting shy of unpinning it because whoever installed it in the current scales obviously had no intention of it ever coming out again ...
