What I little realised when you lot got me going on pens was the huge, agonising choice of ink. It will take me a long time to make up my mind, poring over the Diamine swatches at The Writing Desk, but in the meantime I'm hoping to find a bottle of Waterman blue / black locally. I never did like Quink.
Arrowhead said:When I acquire, or in this case reacquire, an interest in a subject, I tend to read up on it obsessively. This isn't necessarily a good thing, and with the internet delivering a gigashedload of information on any given subject in nanoseconds, there's plenty of scope for driving yourself crazy. The whole hifi business drove me to distraction for months on end. Fountain pen inks aren't nearly as bad, but when I come across something like this, it doesn't help much with the business of just buying a bottle of ink and getting on with my life. The Diamine section is fascinating, I'm afraid.
Anyway Neo, I don't suppose there is much difference, so be happy! For all I know, Quink may have been reformulated half a dozen times since I last used it, but "watery black" does ring a bell. Pleased to hear that your wife has half inched your Hero, because so has mine  The upside of that is that she's found a local supplier of Waterman ink and is stumping up for the first bottle, so thanks for the kind offer, missingskin, but my personal shopper has come up trumps once again.
