I've recently acquired a very nice 1930's Burnham fountain pen with flexible nib - I bought it knowing that the gold bands on the cap were loose. On examination it looks as thought the gold bands, thin, wider, thin - were designed to sit in grooves, however these are now worn, consequently, the bands are crooked and move about.
Does anyone know of a repair service - or even a forum member who may be able to fix this?
Ive used Derrick at Classic Pen Engineering to repair and service my P51's and he does excellent work.
Lovely guy to deal with as well,, an old school Gentleman!
Regards, beejay
Meant to send this yesterday, but the name had slipped my mind so had to check with a colleague.
I've used them once before. They may be a bit old fashioned when it comes to email and the web, but they know their stuff and pricing is quite reasonable.
It's called Battersea Pen's Home. Link: http://www.penhome.co.uk/ - they have a (Fountain) Pen Repair page on there.
