I really like this guy as he has done mind numbing research on the war, especially the Battle of Stalingrad. IMO, he appears very objective.

He seems to think Hitler was a socialist (!). A rather bizarre right-wing trope often used to attack the left.

Be careful. If the rest is up to that standard it won't be worth much.

Anthony Beevor's Stalingrad is a terrible, compelling read from a real historian. The main event was always in the East with unimaginable suffering & loss of life. Eventually the Red Army prevailed, destroying the vast bulk of the Wermacht and saving Europe from the nazis. Then the US saved Western Europe from Stalin...

I beg to differ.
My take was that TIK contrasted and compared (in a sophisticated and nuanced fashion) the likes of National Socialism, as espoused by the Nazis, with International Socialism, as maintained by, at the time, Communism in the USSR.
The arguments are quite intriguing and, whether you agree with them or not, well worth a listen to.

This is verging in the political so I'll stop there ;)

I heartily agree Anthony Beevor's book is a great read (albeit from a different style of historian).

Thanks, I love this kind of stuff. It will fill the hours between PERUN videos.

If you aren't familiar with PERUN, he's an Australian who does primarily economic strategic videos covering the Ukraine/Russo war, and manages to make one hour PowerPoint presentations interesting.
