My new blog is coming along. It's been great fun and very informative seeking out brushes to include in the collection. I'll be posting a review of each brush in my blog - probably it will end up near 40. Still got some on the way. Thought I'd posts pics here of the present lot - hope it's of interest.

After my Rooney quest - I've said all I'm going to say about that in the blog - my Rooney group is the largest! Some of them are very fine brushes, if overpriced - but that's true of all high end brushes at present.

Brilliant, fantastic collection.

Some very nice looking brushes there.

What High Mountain (Plisson) have you ordered?

This one in size 10:

I intend to use every one then try my best to give an objective assessment of each. The Astor is top notch. It has the firmness and backbone I prefer for face lathering with soaps but it will also handle creams - and I should bloomin' well hope so!

I recognise a few of the Rooney's but not many, do you know why some have a different style of font on the handle? Does that indicate a certain type of hair or model?

The makers of Rooney brushes are obviously not obsessed with a need for conformity in their style of logo or indentification. Four of my brushes have the slanted version of Rooney using upper and lower case. The others use capitals and are not consistent. Made at different times in different places methinks? Or someone is not bothered about the need for a consistent house style these days.

I ordered a HMW and European Grey directly off Plisson. I got size 10 because it was also a way of trying one of the smaller knot sizes at 20mm. Obviously the Americans prefer bigger!

I agree. When I looked at the loft/knot table on the Plisson site the size that thought would suit me would be the eight or ten. I am not too worried about small knots, the Simpsons Major I own is 18mm knot and that does the job very effectively, the ten seems a good price point.

I will await your review with eager anticipation.

I don't want to hog the brush review section of the forum so I'll just provide a link to my blog. I will however post reviews there of the Pllssons - worth a discussion bearing in mind their prices.
