feather or Derby Extra

Between Derby or Feather it's Feathers every time regardless of razor.

The last time I bought them from here <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/missethnic/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/missethnic/</a><!-- m -->
at the time that was the cheapest that I could find.

£19:95 post paid for 100 blades.Reasonable feed-back.

feather vs derby....

thats a bit like asking if you prefer sleeping on a matress or bricks!! the two are about as different as can possibly be. The Derby is about the mildest blade you can get, fairly gentle and will require very good technique and persistence to get anything aproaching a completely close shave.

The feather is extremely sharp, possibly the sharpest of all blades out there, technique is also needed to avoid hurting yourself or getting razor burn.

These are two extremes here, and not sure you can possibly compare them, or ask that others should as they don't do the same job. They do different things for different people.

I would suggest that potentially, if your still searching for your perfect blade, that neither of these are ideal. Perhaps look at a sampler pack containing some gillettes. The bleues and platinums i've found to be excellent (although it seems almost all gillette blades are at least somewhat similar in character and i havent been disappointed with any, but do lean towards the bleues as favourites)

At the moment though i'm mostly prefering shark blades. NOt great for longevity, but i get three great shaves from them and stop there.

What about the red pack IP?

good smooth blade, sharp enough and cheap enough to chuck after a couple of shaves?

or have I just said something daft?

either way, dont bother with merkurs!
