Feather Artist, Gimmick?

If you don't feel comfortable using both hands, try using just the dominant one. You have to work out a few differences in holding the razor but, for me, it was much easier than trying to use my non-dominant hand.

As for the cork - anything will do although my preference is one from a bottle of Bolly.

+ 1..I shave with an SR with One hand as Well..I cant use my Left Hand..

Thanks guys!
Well things have improved no end this week and I am getting to a confident, better pay more attention, phase. The blade seems to be really improving with age and giving me better and better shaves. My wooden handled DX has already arrived in the UK from Japan and the seller has been brilliant with lots of emails telling what's happening at each stage. I now can't wait to get it and try it out. Thanks for all the advice, its been brilliant. I think now its just a question of practise.

Cheers,
BR

I've got an SS, now I want the DX with some nice scales. No I don't need the DX with fancy scales, but when did that matter??

Nice purchase

There is quite a difference in feel, not on the face per say more in the hand between SS and the DX. A custom set of scales would set them off a treat.

I've always fancied some rams horn for mine.

I found the feather non folding SS to be a easy razor to master and just as quick to use as any DE razor and it gives me extremely good close shaves, I think as you say work at it for a while and give it a fair chance to prove its self.

There is more blade exposure on the DX than the SS.
It makes the DX slightly more aggressive.

Another benefit to more blade exposure is that you can successfully use blades in the DX/RG series which might have been poor performers in the SS.

Kai Pink Mild blades are a great example, I found the blade exposure to be useless until I tried them in my DX, they're my go-to blade currently!

Hi guys, I have been practicing with my Feather Artist SS folding for about 30 shave with Pro Guard blades and I really llike it. I am now wondering about another razor, and I had the chance to try a Feather Artist SS kamisori style. I found it to be a little heavier than the folding one, and more effective in shaving. Reading pages in the forum I learned that the Feather DX has more blade exposure and slightly different head design, and therefore it is more efficient; is it also more aggressive?
Another question is about the Kai Standard: how does it compare with Feather SS and DX? I am looking to the kamisori style versions of both.
Thanks to all for replies.

I have the non folding SS and use a feather pro blade......perfect! For me
