Mitchell's Wool Fat (Reformulation 2024) Shaving Soap & DSC Neon w/Omega Pure Bristle
Leaf Twig (Prism) & Treet Platinum (2)
DR Harris Sandalwood Aftershave

Last shave for Fat February 2026.

This year I concentrated on Mitchell's and enjoying a run through the last three formulations from the tallowate that we know (and love) to the first veg reformulation to the last reformulation, which personally I think is absolutely stellar and eclipses even the tallowate. Surprise, of sorts, for me was to rediscover that first reformulation and discover that in hindsight it really is a good soap in its own right.

I started the month actually a day early at the very end of January with a quick reminder of Hampshire Woolfat which I keep in a lovely vintage Bristow's Lanolin Shaving Soap container. Just yesterday, I happened upon an unused original Bristow's complete with soap! Shame it didn't land this month, but I'll certainly be giving that one a run through when it arrives.

It's been fun! Same again next year?

Hiya,

Well of course I tried MWF many years ago.....I had to with all the chatter going on with it. Always had very good luck with the lather thing and liked the scent too which was something I'd never huffed. Performance was very good.

The puck could have lasted in my rotation longer but became a bit difficult to use for me. Broke into smaller pieces that I hadda chase around and yeah, I coulda grated it but didn't. Tried one more that lasted a bit longer before cracking up.

However, that whole reformulation journey was pretty nuts, starting with a bomb I believe. Paul would certainly know the details start to finish.

If the soap smells the same as the original and acts that way too then there's not much to dislike even a little bit

Just some stuff to opine about,,,,,,and verbosity,

Martin

Very colourful :) (y)

Last day of the month and of Fat February.

I used the humble little blue Wilko Sword stick, which might have been the best of the bunch. I'm a little sad I didn't buy any more of these, I think I have another one in the stocks but that's it.

I'll see you again for Fat February 2027!

Is there going to be any themes for March? I think Paul @pjgh did something along the lines for Milky March right? I will start a thread in a few weeks times for 'Artisan April'
