Fasting …

Today starts my fasting regime following the 18/6 routine … Trying to remove processed food an seed oils from my diet too… then begins exercise (already walk a lot…)

It’s a 4 month commitment, just wondering whether anyone else has tied it and how you found it?

I hoping to loose weight and improve skin …

I done the exact thing before covid started
i found it very easy but i tried to cut out bread & rice.
i did eat them but rarely
I wouldn’t eat after 6pm but if i stayed up late i would struggle a bit as i’d normally have a couple of slices of toast so it was always early to bed which meant i was up early but couldn’t eat yet lol
Sounds punishing but it’s actually very easy,
i was never one for breakfast anyway

Replaced seeds oils with Beef Dripping (Tallow ) get tubs from my local butcher and I buy my Dairy from Lidl as no Bovear
( Scotland Suppliers ) same as Mike, late night snacking is hard, also i upped my intake of Vitamins and Minerals and focus on protein rich whole food meals.

I've tried and am OK with a 8/16 cycle of 8 hours during which I'd eat and 16 during which I'd fast.
Both leaving out breakfast and leaving out dinner worked well for me.
Leaving out breakfast is easier for me to do, but I benefit from leaving out dinner and just having my last meal between 3 and 4 PM. I end up sleeping better and end up with more time in the evening, too.

That said, it only works if I sleep enough and if it's good quality sleep. I end up craving pretty much any sort of food if I don't, but particularly carbohydrate-rich food that I would leave alone otherwise.

But once I'm in the habit, it requires little effort to keep it up.

doing a similar type fast,14-16/8-10 ish..depends on when i get home from work.lower carb intake and apple cider vinager in the morning.lost over 40 lbs in the last few months.
my job involves lots of walkng also.

I've done a week of 18 hour fasts and nearly a week of twenty four hour fasts. Eating one big decent meal between. Repeating the cycle every few weeks.
Didn't find it too hard but with Xmas approaching and the shops pushing christmas bits (since September in some cases) I have been a bit patchy with it, but will try again

An 18hr fart would surely mean complete bodily implosion? You’d be all sucked in like a vacuum bag. And by ‘eck the place wouldn’t half stink for a month of Sundays. Aye, the farmers’ have been slurrying the fields again…. Sharting would be utterly unavoidable and just imagine the skids? Be like a Tokyo Drift in yer boxers which would end up as torn broon rags flapping in the wind!

You could buffer the coal to keep the flow going.
Buttered beans, avocado garlic lentils... a bit of sauerkraut or kimchi to go with it, and you could drive a car like the Flintstones' had without having to power it with your legs. Instant gas conversion!

Besides, flatulence does pair well with fasting to get rid of it.

I regularly do 18:6 fasting.
It's good... Keeps stomach light at night and helps with better sleep.

For cooking, we don't use any seed oils, only ghee (clarified butter), virgin coconut oil and cold pressed mustard oil for certain types of dishes.
