I was appalled by their blade prices though which is what I buy most regularly!

Whilst any closure of a shaving supplies entity is a loss , I have to say that I stopped using ES some time ago , I found the prices excessive.
Having said that the excessive prices don’t seem to have served them well .

Likewise, I always called them Harrods of shaving.

I did buy my first decent brush there, a Simpsons Duke 3 back in 2016... At the time the prospect of spending £90 on a shaving brush took some self convincing but I did it! A shame they ended up limiting their own sales by stopping the sale of natural hair brushes.

Fair play to whoever got a Konsul or an Ambassador for a steal. I guess it at least saved me from hammering the credit card today! (though feeling a bit gutted to miss out….)

I bought a Konsul for a 30% discount, which has been delivered and so I’m chuffed.

I am not on FB, but I agree with that post. ESC have been abysmal and completely deceitful. What was Brian Mulreany position was he actually retired or still on the payroll. My sympathies are with the staff bulleted without notice, disgraceful.

I wonder if their decision not to sell badger brushes was the start of their down fall? I know why they did it, but custome4s like a choice.

The company transferred to an Employee Ownership Trust June 22. Someone still needed overall say, which it seems was still Brian.

Looking on companies house, Brian and his wife were still listed on the business May 24. He was listed as director on the accounts filed Sept 23 for year ending March 23.

Purchased gravitas edp and a cake of mwf on Tuesday 27 August, received it on Friday 30th for £44 including delivery, a cracking buy imho
Used them many times previously without any problems, sorry to see them go
