My curiosity got the better of me and I pulled the trigger on one last week.
Craftsmanship is really impressive and its quite hefty for its size. I'm awaiting some PAL blades to be delivered and am looking forward to the first few shaves and developing a different technique.
Go for it!
Found some on the Bay whilst searching for GEM blades
10 blades for a little over a fiver.
I say reasonable when I mean it was reasonable for me to be able to dip my toe into the SE world of blades for a small outlay.
I shall put an order in with Connaught after my pay day for the GEM Personna stainless blades.

I feared as much. Are they 3-faceted as the seller claims?
Looking at the Accutec/Personna web site, the only PAL blades they make are industrial.
And the packaging shown on eBay is not or no longer in production.
No shortcuts then.
Either import carbon blades from the US at silly prices or get some proper GEM blades from Connaught for not very much money.
Difficult (for me) to tell. Under a loupe, they would appear to have the same edge grind/profile as the GEM Stainless ... but ... run across the top of my thumb with no pressure, the GEM catches and the PAL does not.
