Eurovision

SWMBO is Serbian and this week I have been forced to sit through the semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest. To me this annual Fauxfest has always been about Terry Wogan, spandex ( sorry Codpiece ) and taking the p*ss; but I now know that to Eastern Europe this stuff is SERIOUS. Forget the World Cup, the Ashes, F1 etc. - this is the competition to win (well maybe bar the World Cup).

Believe me the UK will never again win with our present system of selection so why should we, via the Licence Fee, continue to pay for the lion's share of this vote-for-your-neighbour travesty ? :evil:

Work with a fella who has been to every final for the past 20 years or so.

Talking of Serbia, my brother's ex watching it a couple of years ago and turned to our kid and said "I can't remember Serbia being in this when I was a girl!".

Unfortunately it will never be as good as when 'The Wogan' was commentating, or should i say taking le piss :twisted:
