It's an incredible story. First they got stranded in Antarctica. Then they got stranded on Elephant Island - after taking small, open boats across the southern ocean! Then they got stuck on the wrong side of South Georgia with a mountain range between them and safety... But they still made it home.

Probably the two greatest feats of British seamanship were Shackleton's small boat forays and the post-mutiny trip of Captain Bligh. Simply unbelievable maritime skills, fortitude & sheer resolve.
The Mary Rose sank in shallow waters. She was barely below the ocean surface.Great story. This is as big as the Mary Rose discovery. Now to bring it up.
Getting her up was a major undertaking.
The Endurance is more than 3000 meters (2 miles) down.
Enjoy the video images. There is no way to get her up in one piece.

And she should stay there.
Being a mariner I really like the idea of leaving maritime wrecks where they ended up.
