The regular Edwin Jagger DE89 is the best Brit razor ever made.! Why they launched the 3 One 6 is an enigma that will never be resolved.
What an apt definition! I've found that is the same case with MÜHLE Rocca (albeit the latter is considered much milder).
Really? I love mine, I find it much better than the De89 which I sold. The regular Edwin Jagger DE89 is the best Brit razor ever made.! Why they launched the 3 One 6 is an enigma that will never be resolved.
Rocca is a rather mild razor but with a pronounced blade feel and remarkable audio feedback. If that makes any sense
I wouldn't say it's a disappointment. There's a fair few people who highly rate it (myself included). The disappointment comes from those who wanted a stainless DE89. The 3one6 isn't that - it's a bit more assertive. It never set out to be a DE89 replacement though. I have the red anodised version and it looks stunning. It also fits together perfectly - the MIM process is capable of excellent tolerances in parts the size of razors.I'm back folks! So was looking at this as I love my DE89 and it is my everyday razor. What I take from this thread is that this razor is a bit of a disappointment, no better than the DE89 and fairly expensive seeing it is moulded and not precision machined. Therefore it is not a must have and I should stick to the DE89?

I think it is a lot different from the DE89 and the blade gap is much greater; see post #7. You cannot compare the two and it probably requires good technique with that large blade gap. The blade exposure looks neutral so that would make the razor less aggressive tahn that large blade gap suggests.I'm back folks! So was looking at this as I love my DE89 and it is my everyday razor.
