No.do you use a brush stand.
Does it help dry out a brush and keep it in good shape.
Or is it just something that is just decorative
Shake it, brush it and leave it to stand - job done. When it is dry it gets put in a toilet roll tube to keep neat and tidy (Thank you @kevyshaves for that tip)
If I put it in a toilet roll tube my wife will bin it within 10 minutes
No, there's a reason brushes have flat bottoms. It makes no difference to the drying process, you may think that gravity will help it drain if you hang it, but capillary action will work against that. Give it a shake and a brush on a towel and it'll be good.
My wife just gave me a "you are a freak but I kind of like you" look. She is used to my OCD antics by now.
This.
A brush stand should only be used for practical and/or decorative uses, not because it's necessary for the good health of the brush.
Very nice Michael ! Happy New Year to you! I could do with a few of those stands hahahaSome say you should dry your brush upside down, but really, there's no need to do this at all. A brush stand is merely decorative & keeps thing tidy.View attachment 22930
