Watch what powder you're using - anything too abrasive would likely bugger up the finish on the plating.

I've done it. Works on everything (except aluminium)!
I can confirm that it does the job very well though I have ruined one Ever-Ready SE with an aluminium handle this way.
Now every 2nd hand razor I buy receives this treatment.

Dish washers are great at de-greasing bicycle components too. The washing machine brings old tyres up a treat if you were wondering.

Just remember to remove all evidence before SWMBO spots it or there will be repercussions.

i did this with my crapberry, the hairdryer worked a treat though
