(ok thats an obscure random radio link that will mean nothing to people who didn’t listen to Radio 4 late at night in the 80’s)
I think I have found my perfect combination.
The trouble is Im not sure I can justify it.
Last week I was alternating between an Ikon Bulldog OC razor, and the cheapest nastiest bic biro handled Boots DE razor. Consistently over the week I found I preferred the Boots razor.
I didn’t want to like the boots razor because I spent so much on the Ikon.
I tried a couple of different blades (I still have my feathers to try yet, but seem very happy with the Gillette Bleue’s). Anyway, I traded my Merkur 41 for a Gillette ball end Tech, it almost seemed a shame to use it as it came in its original box – but I decided to try it this morning lashed onto my Bulldog handle. I slipped in a new old stock Gillette Silver (made in England) that arrived yesterday too.
I think I have found my shaving Nirvana.
Now Im cheesed off because as much as I want to like my Ikon Open Comb, I don’t.
So do I try an Ikon Tech head ( I wonder if Greg would part ex)?
Do I keep my strange hybrid?
(one day I will put some batteries in the Fuji S500)
Or do I find a fat handle tech and try that?
In the meantime, do try one of those boots razors they are a pleasant surprise.
