Morning!!
Did this first thing. Cleaned shower screen. Cleaned portafilter.
Took out the plastic crema enhancer gaggia put there.
Prepped a shot.
No blonding. Better crema. Better taste. A little slow. Over tamped.
Prepped second shot less tamp pressure.
Great 2 oz shot in 25 seconds. Lovely even crema again.
Made it into a cappulatte.
Overheated milk slighty.
Wand producing lots more steam!!l
All good.
Cheers
Slimbo.

RE: Descaling the gaggia classic

I bulk buy the cheapest still bottled water I can find at the supermarket, saves the issue of having to descale.

RE: Descaling the gaggia classic

Ah but I use Peckham Spring and it has no calcium in it. innit :D

RE: Descaling the gaggia classic

Today the classic stopped working.....
no water through head.
Tho did get normal flow through wand...
Oh S*%t!
Google.......try de-scaling before any repairs.
I did.
It works!!
It will need doing every couple of months.
I live in a fantastically hard water area BTW,
Cheers

Buy a brita filter jug thing, you are in the hole so much now whats a couple more quid hell why no get a softener fitted to your tap:s

I de-scaled mine last week but as my water is so soft it was actually rather disappointing as there was nothing there.
