Derby Extra

Working my way through various sample tucks and decided to give them a go. I've read so much negative about this brand I'm a little apprehensive.

Nothing wrong with Derby Extra. Not the very sharpest blade, but always smooth and capable of giving a decent shave.

Run the blade under very hot water to loosen that wax / wrapper residue.

If you are using a mild razor, use an aggressive blade - as they say. If using an aggressive razor, use a Derby Extra.

I had a crack with it and found it opened a random gash on my chin which Ive not experienced with any other blade.

Could be user error but it did put me right off of them. Perhaps I'll give them a go once I'm a more experienced shaver, but I didn't like that.

It's not looking good.

There’s too much glue, so they’re difficult to snap off. I’ve got both the Derby Extra and Premium blades, and I can say I’m quite happy with them; the Derby Premium ones are sharper than the Extra ones.

I’d advise you to try again, using a gentle razor as before.
