Electric - phew!
This question was prompted by having to rapidly shave the other day. Luckily I had a couple of days' growth which I think is easier than hacking away at the sandpaper-like stubble that is just peeping out. So I used Zirh brushless cream with its menthol kick and instead of passes, did more of a 'touch 'n scrape' and moving lather around to where more scraping was needed until the roughness was reduced. All in all a passable result but missed a few areas that if I were doing a concentrated effort would have annoyed me more. (Progress with Personna Red(3))
Also used facecloth to warm up and soften beard somewhat - too painful otherwise!
