DE Pouch Advice

Ah! I see, nice one, that solves the problem in an ingenious way and should be simple enough to achieve for a leather worker of your skill.
 
Work in progress tonight reduced the size by 20mm so much more compact the razor in there is a Merkur 34C which fits ok but my Futur clone is going to be a tight fit so I have to decide do I make it a bit bigger to accommodate larger razors or just settle on the fact that you cant have compact and fit larger razors as well. I'll finish it tomorrow and see how it looks then. I'm also wondering whether I should use a single press stud of maybe use a magnetic clasp?

Nice work. Could I please put my tuppence worth in again If you use it as the ATT is designed to be used the razor head, handle and blades are separate so you only have to make the width of the case the length of the handle so it can be made smaller. It's looking very nice though and once you have cracked the design you can be certain you have sold one at least 'cos I'm gonna snatch your hand off.

I have the ATT case & the loops are adjustable, the leather retaining strips are quite long, loop through the backing & poke out at the sides where they can be pulled taught. I have used it for many DE and it is great.

The double bands for the handle tip it from good to great, the adjustable bands hold any handle perfectly.

Only thing I think could be improved is don't use a 'popper' closure, a leather shoelace or similar would be better. The back of the press-stud can scratch the contents & you have to push quite hard onto the awkwardly shaped contents to close it.

I would very much like a pouch that held 2 straights in the same way, pleeeeeze!

The contents are protected from the back of the press stud by the inner flaps . Pushing against the irregular shape of the contents is what made me think of using a magnetic clasp. I've only got bronze ones at the moment though and I'm not convinced that will go with the burgundy dye. I've ordered some nickel ones tonight but unfortunately Hong Kong is the closest place I could find who stocks them!
That's an interesting idea about the straight razor case I'd like to try that but first got to get this refined a bit more and also finish the straight razor roll I've got in several pieces on my desk. Having to go to work is becoming very inconvenient recently
 
Should you ever consider a 2-straight pouch, give me a prod. The closure for that would deffo be better as an envelope flap or tongue into a retaining loop.

Antique double cases turn up on eBay once in a while, I think they are a great idea for travel .

Thanks, Give me a reminder in a couple of weeks and I'll give it a go. Unfortunately having to work has a habit of erasing my memory of good stuff just had almost 3 weeks off and the prospect of returning next week it hampering my creativity. I'm thinking a day in Newcastle on the drink tomorrow may be the way forward
 
Got this one finished today, to give you an idea of scale the razor in it has a 75mm handle. I went with the magnetic clasp for this one which works great as you don't have to try to push down onto what is an uneven surface with the razor inside. The ATT site has theirs with the straps tucked underneath but having tried it out I think I prefer just leaving them out but (that's) just personal preference the option to tuck it underneath is there if wanted. I think I'll still tweek it slightly but I'm reasonably happy with how it is now.

I'll probably do a few of these over the next week or so then offer them for sale on here. This one is burgundy but I'll probably do some in black and dark brown I'm tempted to do a yellow one but I think I'd just end up having to keep that one for myself

As you can see from the photos it is 100mm x120mm.

Need to get on with doing my razor roll now.
