Welcome to TSR. It is a good idea to try different blades till you find one you like. Also maybe you are shaving with a steep blade angle which is a common mistake when switching from a cartridge razor to a DE razor. Try a blade angle nearer to 30 degrees.Changed to an Edwin jagger DE89L from a Cartridge razor for the last three days and now have the worst shaving rash in my whole 52 years.
I am a little confused by it and would appreciate any advise.
Welcome...I'm confident that changing from Derby blades will help. Personna Israeli Reds were my blades of choice, after a sample pack. Now I use Astra SP, Gillette Nacet, and Gillette Rubies. The variety is the main attraction of this type of shaving. Enjoy!!Hi All
Thanks once again for the great advise and very warm welcomes.
I thought i would report back on my progress since reporting my disaterous shave last Thursday.
I have been aplying some of the wifes Elemis sos cream to the neck and it has recovered quite nicely,so much so i attempted another shave thsi morning
Two passes , no pressure on the razor and i now realise my first pass is WTG which doesnot necessarily mean straight down.
Whilst its not the babies butt shave i crave, its a work in progress which i am happy with.
I have also ordered some Personna blades as these Derby's are definitely scratchy.
