Active Coming soon - Tatara titanium pass around with Masamune and Nodachi parts included

Yesterday.

This module definitely makes itself felt.
On paper the aggressivity is slightly higher.
But the blade feeling is definitely very present.
It requires respect and meditation to keep control.
From here we are in the high end of the Tatara TI ecosystem.

As before, but no longer mitigated by topcap.
The cutting angle is wider and less intuitive.
Also for the moderate bar surface.

Very calmly (Sunday), I reached a good BBS.
With the initial stress removed, the three passes were comfortable.
Especially thanks to extensive software support.
I added the crystal alum.
As key test of real performance.
Which was better than I expected.
Slight burning in passing.
Nothing out of the ordinary.

Definitely not the ideal solution for everyday use.
On the other hand, it is definitely fun, however challenging.
Frankly, it’s not in line with my current routine.
Which is based on speed and enjoyment.
But I don’t doubt he has many admirers.

Perfect for all those who use efficiency instead of aggressivity !!!

Today.

I haven’t had a significant regrowth since yesterday.
One OPS pass was more than enough.
This module is definitely challenging.

During the cleaning, the blade was definitely dirty.
The trimmed all attached to the back of the wire.
So it’s a clear indication of a wrong angle.
I’ll have to be a lot more careful tomorrow.

However the result was good.
Both for the wide support provided by the software.
Both for quick and little aggressive strategy.
No cuts, no irritation, no problems.
Even the alum was sincere in its absence of burning.
However I do not expect a habitual duration of this BBS.
Which for me can be a problem in the lower neck.
More than alum, for me the real indicator is my work coat.

Yesterday.

Round-robin Italian style, pt.1.
It's the final phase of this test.
Direct battle between the various "light" modules.

My favorite is the Mod3. Most efficient.
In the correct sense of the word.

Super delicate, absolutely simple, definitely comfortable.
For comparison I used the Technique of Three Razors.
https://www.bruceonshaving.com/the-3-razor-shaving-method/
https://www.bruceonshaving.com/the-3-razor-shaving-method-revised/

On paper they are very different.
In practice, they are very close.
All efficient, but the Mod3 more clearly.
A bit more of gap and exposure makes itself felt.
In the best sense, with clearer and faster feedback.
Better control and performance.
In short, a pleasure.
BBS Top !!!

Today.

Round-robin Italian style, pt.2.
Direct battle between my two favorites.

Again, they look very similar.
Slit 0.63 vs 0.90, exposure 0.00 vs -0.03.
But even in this case appearances deceive.

As my friend Ares56@ilRasoio wisely says...
"Razors must be tried !!!"

The Mod3 is a bit more intuitive, the Mod5 is a bit more effective.
Mainly the difference is in the angle set by the geometry.
Still easy either way.

For my taste, I feel more efficient Mod5.
In the TI version, even more so than cousin SS.
Weight and balance are in my favorite range.
As well as ease, precision and carefree.
But with a clean performance.
And durable.

In fact the result was apparently the same.
During and immediately after, no difference.
But as the day passed, time showed reality.
Mod3 has produced a less durable perfection.
In the early afternoon I could feel the regrowth.
Which Mod5 held off until evening.

This is also a matter of practice.
Surely, with more experience and a few tweaks, the result would be different.
I am convinced that Mod3 can also produce excellent performance.
But with expedients, unnecessary with Mod5.

For my taste, definitely the most suitable module for my needs.

The day before yesterday, I forgot to include the comment.

With the right concentration, the top of the Tatara TI ecosystem is fun.
Mod8 is powerful and very effective razor, which can give excellent performance.
But It’s too much for my taste.

Ops, I forget the last one.
My fav Tatara TI molule vs my champion.

Round-robin, pt.3.
Grand finale.

The challenger is stronger.
The youth of the project is noticeable.
The high-quality material enhances its performance.
The advantage is clear and evident.

But the old champion has the experience.
It takes well, and reacts at the first opportunity.
In the end the result is very similar.
The points are counted.

A little more weight, and better balance.
The slightly more ergonomic shape of the handle.
Especially considering a backward grip.
Slightly better angle control.
As well as exposure and gap.
On technical skills thry're essentially equal.
Which is already an excellent result.

But then I look at the economic factor.
To achieve that performance, the investment is very different.
A sore point, the famous elephant in the room.
Because the difference is about 15x ... which is noticeable.

How do you notice the difference in aesthetics and design.
And equally the resistance of the materials over time.
Which are different values, but still present.

For those (like me) who don't collect an art object, it's easy.
I dispassionately connect pleasure to the efficiency of performance.
Easy, fast, comfortable and durable BBS. In both cases.
All this divided by the price and the ease of obtaining the instrument. (Time and cost)
And the hypothetical number that comes out expresses my appreciation.
Given the same result for both. Perfection.
This is why my champion PP1489 is still undefeated.
Thanks to a few points, scored with a lot of skill.
Certainly in another situation Tatara TI Mod5 is a winner hands down.
Because it has all the requirements to be the definitive razor, for my tastes.
Unfortunately the place is already taken. Time ago.

I am grateful to Tatara Razors and ATG Forum for the experience.
This was one of the most fun tests I've ever done.

1. Sig Solo (Greenland) - completed
2. Giuseppe Caccamo (via Tatara) (Sicily) - completed!
3. @ischiapp (Italy) - completed
4. @Gian (Italy) - with
5. @Ventastic (Austria)
6. @RazorMcRazorface (Austria)
I am late to the party I see, but any chance this is heading back to the UK (Scotland) after it's tour of the EU? Would love to try it too, thanks

Final entry from RazorMcRazorface

Thanks to everyone who took part in the passaround.

I think this is a fitting end to the pass around. It has indeed been an epic odyssey like @RazorMcRazorface says. Rather than taking it out of the EU and then bringing it back in the razor will now head home to Porto.

Many thanks to everyone Tatara Razors for making it possible, João in particular.

We are all very much looking forward to hearing more about your new Single Edge.

From João:

Thank you to everyone for dedicating your time to review the Nodachi. All reviews, comments, and tips are, and will always be, welcome, so feel free to share them or contact us at any time!

Hope we helped achieve some BBS and brought some passion to the shaving routine!

Special thanks to @Masamune for organizing this pass-around and making it a success!

Happy shaves!

JG
