Would you flip an axe blade? A knife blade? No, because the beveled edge meets the same resistance on both sides just as a steak knife cutting a piece of meat. These are used by the factory for quality control, the blades are sharpened by four grinders and the numbers identify which one's not doing its job if there's a problem.

That makes perfect sense - finally I know what those numbers are for - THANK YOU.

Reverting to the original topic, I've tried cold water shaving a couple of times and while I really, really want it to work for me, it just doesn't. The blade tugs, and the result is increased irritation and usually a nick or two. Maybe I just need a sharper blade for cold shaves?
