Very intresting indeed, I can't comment on how the brass General would deal with 2 or three days growth because I shave every day and when I made a comparison between the General and the V1 Claymore I found them to be just about the same as far as the shave and finnish was concerned on one days growth, so much so that I sold my V1 Claymore in favor to the better made General so my General is now my only wide head SE razor. As with all things YMMVDear gents,
although today I was planning to shave with the straight, Billy had honed and sent me, I have forgotten that it's a bank holiday and the post office is closed, so I mowed my 5 day stubble using both the V2 Claymore with a pro-guard (not my favourite mild blade) and the brass General with a pro on it's 3rd outing.
As I have very strong stubble it was difficult for the general to go through it, leaving patches untouched and feeling very mild and inefficient. This is not however the experience I get from it when I use it on a 2 day stubble as I consider it a mild, but efficient SE under these circumstances. I changed to the Claymore and the efficiency even with the pro-guard was amazing. It was cutting like a knife through soft butter and very clearly audible. In two passes I was BBS. It is a more aggressive SE than the general for sure but also much more efficient. It needs watching though as I'm sure it was not designed with the novice in mind, but the experienced shaver that has mastered the technique. As I've been wet shaving for some time now, it was a pleasant surprise also satisfying to see than my technique is still solid, after the OneBlade which I've been using for some time.
It was such a satisfying shaving session, I'm in love with my Claymore. It's in the RX aggression territory but for less than half the price. I think I'll go for the SS version as well when it comes out and I regret not buying the V1. Maybe e-bay will help on this one.
Really, a highly recommended SE for the experienced shaver.

The aluminium test razor shaved very well indeed, we have now given the go ahead to make a few stainless steel testers so we can gauge what if any effect the additional weight makes to the shave. We are ever so close but with the cost of tooling and having small numbers of razors made for testing we have to get it absolutely right.Yes the machine tooled version please.
Despite being quite heavy, I find that the V1 provides me with good trouble free shaves. In fact i have+1 me too I prefer to wait awhile for further review before buying the new v2.0 Claymore and make sure is pointed to the right direction this time as I've read that v1.0 wasn't too good.
