We tried that. Fell through. Nobody was keen on mold-poured handles. The "Krion" handles are lathe-turned however and are fabulous (if you enjoy their design). So, first Epsilon group buy, after the honeymoon?
Lol no more for some time. I think and hope I have acquired all I need and want for some time now.So, first Epsilon group buy, after the honeymoon?
How is yours Erik? I have seen a few shedders which put me off. Could you compare it the 2 band 27/55?We tried that. Fell through. Nobody was keen on mold-poured handles. The "Krion" handles are lathe-turned however and are fabulous (if you enjoy their design).
I haven't tried a 27/55 2-band so I can't comment. How is yours Erik? I have seen a few shedders which put me off. Could you compare it the 2 band 27/55?

I agree. It's quite something to hold and feel. Much better than the mold handles.
Slightly off topic, do you still own the other Paladin Chief? You sold me the brother/sister a year or so back. That is something else would you put it above your Shavemacs?Back Ot! A Simpson chubby is a nice experience. However there is better out there. Too over priced, inconsistency in materials used and build of knots and finish of handles. On the plus side, you do get a lot of scene points!
If I was to buy one, it would never be new, it would be from someone who I trust so they can make sure that these issues don't exist. The above is from personal experience over many brushes (somewhere in the 100 region I guess).
IMO You can't go wrong with Shavemac. High quality finish of handle, very very well priced for such a high quality knot, no extra charge for a custom, great service, the list goes on. In fact I've had Bernd 'fix' some of my Simpson brushes which have had some terrible knots.

Knot alone.
Gorgeous brushes, don't expect them to be around for long.I haven't tried a 27/55 2-band so I can't comment.
I have five 2-band Epsilons with the 27/50 knots. Two are the original black-handle "anniversary" engraved handles with the first-gen Epsilon hair. Simply amazing (one is a spare I keep in the box). One is a white handle (unused/new in box).
One is a burgundy handle and has a 2mm glue-bump. My Krion knot has zero glue-bump and splays wonderfully.
All have the perfect hybrid-bulb shape I love. Like a bulb with a flat-top.
None of them have lost a single hair in use.
*Edit. Shameless plug...I just listed two of my Epsilons on BST.
http://www.simpsonshavingbrushes.com/shop/5/index.htmI'm sorry but how anyone justify £342.00 for a brush, would love to see one of these that brushes that cost so much any links would be great guys.
Merv
They state on the website for just short of £275, but by the time vat is on top of that in the basket plus postage its a sting
