I don't want to get pulled up on this, so have never tried to take DE lades in my hand luggage

According to the link you can only take a blade up to 6cm if it is not sharp or pointed. DE blades are sharp, ergo, you can't carry them.

I'm pretty certain that I could ruin someone's day with a ballpoint pen, but the rules are the rules.

You're allowed to take up-to-6cm scissors with blunt end scissors listed separately. I would assume that if they're not blunt end scissors, then the up-to-6cm ones would be pointy

I agree with you that it doesn't make a lot of sense, and I'm surprised that scissors are allowed too. DE blades definitely aren't though.
