Can glide be too good?

My latest addition is Zingari Navigator which is so smooth and slick, but compared to the recently completed sterling Autumn is leaving me with a micro stubble. On reflection, this could be the reason what AE Boca Negra wasn’t as bbs as the Sterling, AND the best shave I had recently was with TGS Tyrannus which is the least smooth by far…

All using onethreesix X feather …

Can soaps be too slick?

As an aside - the Zingari splash is great!

Personally i don’t think they can be to slick although i could be wrong but they can definitely be lacking in water if your not lathering properly.
Iv had soaps that have been so thick and iv been to lazy to fix it and i haven’t had the best of shaves.
For me nowadays getting the lather right is one of my favourite parts of wet shaving.
i’m never in a rush & happy to plod away until its merengue like.
sometimes it takes me 1 minute other times it might take 2-3

This! 100%

I have pondered this from time to time as many attribute it to a razor 'skipping'. Is it the soap or soap/razor combo?

The cure seems to be shorter strokes which may be related to lather buildup in the razor channels requiring more rinsing. I'm 'spitballing' my theory on this, but it's the best I can deduce.

Actually this resonates, used my slant tonight (37c) with the usual feather and as it’s shorter and lighter I tend to use shorter strokes and the shave was better….
