Cafiza on razor

No idea what Cafiza is im afraid, i use a ultrasonic cleaner for mine

I use Cafiza tablets to clean my sage coffee machine. Hadn't thought of using them for cleaning razors or any other purpose.
The wife uses denture cleaning tablets for various household applications for instance removing stains from cups and mugs (she doesn't take milk so after a while a stain develops in drinking receptacles).

In short, no ...
I've looked at Cafiza and it's a strong alkaline. Warnings come with application to plated metal, particularly nickel over brass (which many of our razors are) where the nickel plated can be compromised or even removed ... nickel over pot-metal would be worse as the pot-metal itself might also corrode.
On brass or aluminium, again no as it would cause oxidisation and discolouring.
On stainless steel, fine.
Roll the dice ...
Or, get an ultrasonic cleaner if you're going to be doing a few or frequently. Otherwise, soak the razor in vinegar and warm water for 5-10 minutes (no longer) and give a gentle scrub with a toothbrush. Wash clean with liquid soap.

I used two different Ai’s and google and all 3 came back as a no.
Now i know people on here that have put their razors in a dishwasher if you have them and it seems to be a good thing,
No ill effects if you put it in the cutlery tray.
Before i bought the ultrasonic i would clean with an old tooth brush with washing up soap then i would do it again with anti bacterial soap which i didn’t really need it’s just me then it went in to a clean solution of barbacide.
I guess it really depends on how bad the razor is.

I haven't cleaned many razors, but lots of delicate tech items.
Toothbrush for delicate items (plus cheap 2x sided nailbrushes are usefull with soft / hard sides ... Only about £1)
As said avoid strong Alkaline. Good old hot water + a little washing up liquid is a good start for delicate tech. Invest in a decent pair of household rubber gloves so you can use properley hot water.
White (distilled) vinegar is excellent for all sort of cleaning and is super cheap if you buy supermarket own brand.

PS. For you guys using an ultrasonic cleaner, you can save on cleaning products + keep the machine clean by putting the part to be cleaned inside a small sealed container filled with cleaning fluid and just fill the main tank with water.
The ultrasonic waves will pass through rigid glass and plastic easily and clean just as well, even a ziplock bag at a pinch, although a soft bag will reduce the efficiency a little. Old plastic take away containers work great too.

Out of curiosity - what make did you go for? I saw Matt from Razor Emporium recommending a variable frequency type then disappeared down a rabbit hole and inaction. I had settled on size, but after failing to find variable frequency versions, I got sidetracked on a home restoration project.
Would you consider putting an old metal shaving brush in one?

Alright mate this is the one i got.
Now if your like me you’ll look far to much in to it
I really bought it to clean coffee baskets / puck screens & razors.
The one i wanted was ideal however i went down a stupid road and asked Ai.
I gave it a budget and it came up with ideas
i then narrowed it down to Amazon just so i could get it next day.
I went £50 but actually i recon £20-£30 is perfectly good enough.
As for brushes i wouldn’t advise it but i dont know

I brought this in 2020 for £36.
I've had no issues with it and it brings up my razors great.
Thanks @Johnny Bravo - is it Razors only you use it for? I made the mistake of asking ChatAI for a definitive choice on a cleaner capable of Razors, and Carburettor's - it reckoned lower freq would be good for deep cleaning and the upper freq (40khz) would be good for smaller components.

I sometimes clean jewellery but nothing that has any kind of stones.
