I use this one:

Hell's teeth it's gone up twelve quid since I ordered it last October. I can't really recommend it at nearly 50 notes. I'll get my coat.

This is more reasonably priced:

And if you don't like it you could always electrify it and use it as a game of skill at a church fete.

Aye but there's no drip tray on that one, the water drips from your brush and razor and all over the bathroom cabinet and over the carpet bleh it's a mess.

I don't work for Irish Barber BTW.

I looked at buying one of these from a guy on B&B, £35 delivered I think it was.It was the all nickel version, looked nice.hmmm might have to revisit that :D

I've been thinking a bit about razor stands recently, specifically something to hold a straight open until I'm absolutely sure it's dry, but also accommodation for a number of DE razors. This isn't market research really, but what are you fellas looking for? As Hawkeye says, I can't really see the need for anything to catch drips, but I'm interested in any ideas for what would really be useful. I have a fairly good idea of what I want to do for the straight razor, so I'll likely make a prototype soon. At the moment I have seven DEs hanging through a wire shelf and a straight stuck in the top of a vase, so clearly there's room for improvement.

Another post from Arrowhead mentioning SRP made me take a quick look over there. I happened to see this thread with some very interesting stands. I like the first picture. Those solid looking metal toothbrush holders work well for DEs.

The one that got me thinking is pictured below: it seems to be a practical answer to the drying problem. I have a good sized sheaf of 1 1/4" offcut burr walnut and yew veneer strips which I've been hoarding for years, waiting for plagiarism to strike. They would make very strong and lightweight curved laminates - that's the sort of thing I have in mind for myself. If I'm to make a former for one, I might just as well make a batch, and if anyone has any other bright ideas whilst I feel the urge, the result might be a few interesting pifs.

As regards SRP, I finally cracked a couple of nights ago and signed up out of frustration with the pop-ups which obliterate the right hand side of screen, but I'd rather have remained a lurker. It's a lot like B&B: loads of information and thousands of contributors ... and a rather different culture. The selection of smileys is worryingly violent, for example one has sniper rifle - useful if you feel all Lee Harvey Oswald, I suppose. No discussion of sheds that I can see, but perhaps they're referred to as "ammunition dumps".
