Black or white

I have a black ark and awaiting delivery of a white one, which in your opinion is a better finisher ?

No idea, way out of my price range, however if you post them both to me i will let you know, promise.

I’ve read a bit now, apart from the soft arks, the hard arks are the white, translucent and black are all the same, apart from the surgical black which is slightly higher again

Ok, after lapping and burnishing the stone, I took a vintage with a dodgy edge back to the bevel, went through the stones and finished on the white ark. Early days...but it is silky smooth and a bit faster than my black ark which is labourisly slow, but different blades are better on some stones than others. Not stropped it yet but it will be fine, I maybe use it tonight...but right now I'm knackered, so maybe tomorrow.
